Overview

Shipment packing in LASSO is a powerful feature that allows users to efficiently assign assets from multiple pack sheets to any number of trucks. This ensures a consolidated and accurate manifest of items on each truck, making logistics and tracking much easier. Below, we’ll walk you through the process step-by-step.

Accessing the Shipment View

  1. Navigate to the Warehouse Activities Page:

    1. Go to the Warehouse Activities page to access the Shipment View.

    2. This view lists all active shipments, including their names, related events and orders, status, origin warehouse, destination, expected departure and arrival times, and the destination address.

  2. Packing Assets:

    1. You can pack assets directly onto the truck from the Shipment View.

    2. Alternatively, you can navigate into the orders and pack from the pack sheets.

Creating a Shipment

  1. Initiate a New Shipment:

    1. Click on the "Create Shipment" button.

    2. Name your shipment (e.g., "Truck 1").

    3. Select the orders that will be included in this shipment.

  2. Enter Shipment Details:

    1. Truck/Trailer Number: Enter the truck or trailer number for tracking purposes.

    2. Origin: The origin will auto-populate based on the first order selected for the shipment.

    3. Destination: Select the venue, which will be filtered to include venues that related to the event. The address will auto-populate if it is stored on the venue.

    4. Contact Name: Optionally, enter a contact name for the venue.

    5. Expected Departure and Arrival Times: Input the dates and times you expect the truck to leave your warehouse and arrive at its destination.

    6. Driver Information: Add the driver’s name, last name, contact number, and license number if needed.

    7. Notes: Enter any additional notes that will appear on the shipping documentation.

  3. Shipment ID Auto-Assignment:

    1. Once the details are added, the shipment is auto-assigned a number. The format of this number can be customized in your Company Inventory Settings.

Packing Assets to a Shipment

  1. Packing from the Pack Sheet:

    1. Navigate to the Pack Sheet:

      1. Go to the pack sheet for the order you want to pack.

      2. Look for the new "Shipment" icon in the header.

    2. Assign Packed Assets:

      1. Ensure the assets are already packed to the pack sheet.

      2. Select the assets you want to pack to the shipment.

      3. If the order is assigned to only one shipment, it will auto-select. If multiple shipments are available, choose the one you want to pack to.

    3. Controls for Assignment:

      1. Manually pack assets.

      2. Use bulk select to pack multiple assets at once.

      3. Scan assets to assign them to the shipment.

  2. Packing from the Shipment View:

    1. Navigate to the Shipment:

      1. Go to the Shipment View and select the shipment you want to pack.

    2. Scan Containers:

      1. Scan the containers from the orders associated with the shipment.

      2. The scan will be successful as long as the containers are linked to an order on the shipment.

Consolidated Manifest View

  1. Access the Consolidated Manifest:

    1. Once all assets are packed, you can access the Consolidated Manifest View.

    2. This view provides a comprehensive list of all assets from multiple pack sheets that are packed onto the truck.

    3. You can print the manifest, save it as a PDF, or export it as a CSV file.

Updating Shipment Status

  1. Status Updates:

    1. From the Shipment View, you can update the status of the shipment to keep your warehouse team informed.

    2. This helps in tracking relevant shipments and filtering out completed ones.

Additional Features

  1. Pack Sheet Indicators:

    1. On the pack sheet, columns indicate which truck a particular line item has been packed into.

    2. You can show or hide these columns as needed.
