Sub-venues can be helpful to communicate separate groups or work locations within the same event.

How to add Sub-venues to your venues

Venues can be added from the Venue Directory under the Administration Menu. To get started, click the yellow Add New Venue button. You'll be prompted to enter information about your venue, including Venue Name, City, State*, and Nearest Airport.

*For international customers, changing the Country will alter the "State" field to "Region".

Once saved, additional information can be added to the venue record. Sub-venues can be added under the appropriate section by clicking the blue plus sign.

How to add Sub-venues to your event

When creating a new event, a Venue is required to save the event. Venues can be selected from the drop down menu if already added in your LASSO Venue directory, or the blue + can be clicked to add a new venue. Sub-venues CANNOT be added from the General Info page of an event.

Event Info is being edited. In the "Venue" section, you can type in the box to locate venues already added, or click the blue plus sign directly above the venue field to add a new venue.

Sub-venues can be added to individual labor groups on the Schedule+ page. Sub-venues inform individual labor groups that they will be working at a different location than other labor groups. To add a sub-venue to a labor group, edit the labor group.

In the pop-up menu, select the sub-venue using the "Group Venue" dropdown menu.

NOTE: Sub-venues will only appear in this dropdown menu if they have already been added to the venue record in the Venue Directory menu. For more information on Venues, check out our Venue Directory walkthrough.

How Sub-venues appear for your crew in the LASSO app

The main venue listed on your event will appear in the LASSO app with the full venue name and address, and a link to open the address in the map app of the phone. LASSO Mobile will default to the native map application on the phone being used.

This event takes place at The Country Club in Nashville, TN.

Sub-venues will be shown under the Roster section of the event, under the Groups. The sub-venue for the group "On Site Working Days" is actually Assumption College.

To remind your crew of their different working locations, LASSO recommends sending communications via LASSO to ensure each group knows where to go for their shift. Address information for sub-venues should also be communicated via messages.

What are ideal situations to use Sub-venues in?

Sub-venues are most useful when there are multiple smaller locations within one larger location. Crew can then be assigned to work in one location or the other without the need for multiple events.

  • if the event takes place at a hotel in both the main ballroom and several smaller break-out rooms, the sub-venues for the groups might be "Main Ballroom" and "Break-out Room".

  • if the event takes place at a stadium, sub-venues could be different security check points such as "Main Gate" or "Gate B". The main venue would be the stadium.

While sub-venues can be used to indicate entirely different addresses for labor groups, full address information is not provided for sub-venues.

  • If Team A is meeting at the venue, while Team B is meeting at your warehouse, the sub-venue for Team B could be listed as your warehouse location. However, since the event venue is listed as the venue, the only address these crew will see is the venue address.
