Creating an invoice in LASSO

This is a deep dive into using the LASSO Invoice Spoke! We will outline how to create and save your invoice in LASSO.

Updated over 2 months ago

Time to Invoice

Once your event is wrapped up, it's time to send an invoice to the client! You can follow the guide below to create and send your invoice.

To get started, click on the Invoice Spoke in your event, located along the left menu, towards the bottom. The list of modules available in the left menu will change based on what LASSO modules you're using.

Similar to when you built your quote, you will use the menu on the left to configure your invoice and your invoice preview will appear on the right.

Configure your Invoice

You have a lot of control over how you present your invoice. To get started, select your invoice type in the "Invoice Detail" section. Choose between an additional payment, a deposit, or a reconciliation invoice.

Next, if you have an accepted quote/contract, you can choose that document to be the basis of your invoice by selecting it. Multiple quotes can be selected with a Ctrl + Click/Cmd + Click.

This allows you to avoid remaking your invoice to match a quote, but does remove other configuration options. If you need to add additional line items, choosing to use an approved quote/contract might be too limiting.

Continue to customize your Invoice using the additional options below:

  • To upload a new logo, visit the ACCOUNT settings under the Company Settings

  • To add an Invoice Address, add the address as a warehouse address

    • Must have multi warehouse enabled

    • Don't use LASSO Inventory? Contact your Customer Success Manager or LASSO Support to have an alternate address added.

  • Invoice Terms can be set at the Client level by visiting the Client Directory

Add Resources and Line Items to your Invoice

Depending on the LASSO Modules you are utilizing, the options for adding resources may differ.

Check the box to the right of the Resource type to ensure that that resource type is included on your invoice.

Just like in your quote, you have the ability to drag and drop components of the invoice as needed to arrange the way you would like. To drag and drop any item in your invoice, simply click and hold the dots to the left of each item/option.

Save Your Invoice

Once you have configured your invoice how you'd like, review the preview and click "Save Invoice".

Print or Download your Invoice and Manage the Invoice Status

Once you've saved your invoice, you can now download the document, using the print button at the bottom of the page.

Invoices can be downloaded with or without payments. It can also be exported to a excel doc that will break down the invoice by line items and GL Codes.

Update the Invoice status to ensure proper reporting and tracking of invoices.

Invoices cannot be emailed directly out of LASSO to your client. However, downloaded invoices can be emailed to your client from your email.

Request Payment for your Invoice

Payment can be requested directly through LASSO with our payments partner, JustiFi.

Payment requests can be started from the Invoice, or from the Payments Dashboard. When started from the invoice, certain fields will auto-fill for you.

Enter Payments

As payments are made, they should be entered on the invoice page, under Invoice Payments. The total remaining balance will continue to update as payments are added.
