LASSO plays audio cues as you scan — pack success, unpack, errors, and case open and close. Prior to this new settings option, sounds were set once for the whole account, which doesn't suit shared warehouse terminals where different people want different cues.
Each user can pick their own sound for each scan event, and the choice follows you to whatever terminal you log into rather than living on the machine.
User Permissions for Custom Sounds
Access is controlled by two permissions — one that lets a user choose their own sound preferences, and a separate one that lets an admin manage the shared sound library. Both are granted to the Inventory Admin role by default; admins can extend either permission to other roles or users as needed.
How to Locate the Sound Library
Located in the Company Inventory/Quote Settings, the Sound Library allows for custom sounds to be added to various scanning and packing actions.
Navigate the the Administration Menu, then click on "Company Inventory Settings" or "Company Quote Settings", depending on your LASSO modules. Select the "Sound Library" from the left side menu.
Pre-set sounds are already in place. Click the preview button
to listen the sound that is configured for that action.
Actions that can trigger a sound:
Pack Success: Asset successfully scanned out to a pack sheet
Unpack Success: Asset successfully scanned back in to the warehouse from a return sheet
Error: an error has occurred
Case Open: A case has been opened, and scanned assets will be scanned into the case
Case Close: A case has been closed. Future scanned assets won't packed into a case
Returned, not stored in container: During free-scan returning or container restoring, an asset that isn't part of the container's definition returns to stock but is not stored in the container. A popup notes the partial success, and this sound plays so it can be recognized by ear
Add Custom Sounds
Account admins manage the available sounds under Company Inventory/Quote Settings → Sound Library, where they can preview the LASSO presets and upload custom audio files for the account to choose from.
Click the Add Custom Sound
button to upload a new audio file. Choose your file in the pop up window.
Sounds can be renamed or deleted.
Criteria for Custom Sounds
Sounds can be no longer than 4 seconds.
The maximum file size is 1 MB.
Accepted File Formats:
MP3, wav or ogg
Choose your Custom Sounds from the Sound Library
If your Warehouse team is used to hearing specific sounds when an action is successful or fails, it can be added as a custom sound.
To set your own, open the user menu in the top-right corner. This will either be your initials or your profile image.
Choose Sound Preferences:
The User Menu does not appear on all LASSO pages. Access a page related to Inventory/Gear, Project Management, or Quotes/Invoices to locate the menu.
A drawer opens with each scan event — pack success, unpack success, pack error, unpack error, case open, and case close — and you pick a sound for each one from the LASSO library. Under the Repacking Modal section, the Returned, not stored in container event sets the cue that plays when an asset returns to stock without being stored in its container; choose a preset or a custom upload just like any other event. Your choices apply automatically across every scanning surface — Pack Sheets, Reconciliation, shipments, repacking, and free scan — and anything you leave unset keeps playing the LASSO default.
Use the drop down menus to expand the section and set sounds for all the actions.
We look forward to seeing what custom sounds you choose for your team!
