Company Settings - Custom Fields

Learn how to add custom fields during the Registration Process to add additional information that is specific to your company's needs.

Once you've set up your main registration settings, the next step is to add custom fields. Custom fields allow you to collect additional information that is specific to your company's needs. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set them up:

Accessing Custom Fields

Click on the Administration tab located at the top of your LASSO site. Select Company Settings, then choose the "Custom Fields" tab.

Setting Up Custom Fields

Custom fields can be used to gather a wide range of information during the Crew Registration process, such as certifications, license expiration dates, years of experience, and more. To get started, click the "Edit" button then click Add Custom Field at the bottom of the page

The "Field" will be the question or statement shown to crew.

The "Format" is the response type and CANNOT be edited once saved.

  • Text: For open-ended responses. Crew can free type their response.

  • Number: For numerical inputs.

  • Day: For a specific date.

  • Phone Number: For contact information.

  • Dropdown Select List: For choosing one option from a list.

  • Checkbox List: For selecting multiple options from a list.

  • File Upload: For submitting documents like licenses or certificates.

  • Secure Text: For sensitive information that will be encrypted and saved in the database. This data can only be viewed in the crew profile when it is filled and encrypted.

Important: Once Custom Fields have been saved, the response type cannot be updated!

Limit Custom Fields to Specific Roles or Jobs

If the custom field only applies to certain roles or jobs, you can limit it to specific positions by selecting them in the designated section.

For example, this question about audio consoles only applies to Audio positions, so I have limited this custom field to only be asked of Crew who register for the specific selected positions.

Add Options for Dropdown or Checkbox Lists

If you are using a dropdown or checkbox list, add your options in the choices section.

Simply type each option and press Enter. No commas are needed.

Options for Dropdown or Checkbox lists can be edited after they are saved.

Set Field Requirements

Choose whether the custom field should be required, optional, or hidden from the user. This helps ensure that you get the necessary information from your crew members.

Hidden Custom Fields can still be used by Administrators and Users for filtering purposes. The Custom Field question will still be shown on the Crew Profile so that LASSO Admins or Users could enter the information themselves.

An example of a Hidden Custom Field is the completion of a background check. As background checks are completed, a User would update the crew profile so that filtering can be accurate.

Export Sequence

Use the export sequence section to assign each field a number. This determines order in which Custom Fields will be exported on Crew Exports, located under "Manage your Datasets"

By following these steps, you can easily add and manage custom fields to tailor the registration process to your company's specific needs. This will help you gather all the necessary information from your crew members efficiently and securely.
