Overview

This guide outlines how to add custom items to your quotes in LASSO, even if these items are not part of your regular inventory. By using miscellaneous items and subrental items, you can ensure that all necessary items are included in your quotes, providing clear and detailed information to your clients.

Adding Miscellaneous Items

Creating a Miscellaneous Item is a helpful option for items that aren't rented very often, or are a one-off/custom inventory asset.

  1. Navigate to the Inventory Section:

    1. Go to the "Inventory" section in your LASSO account.

  2. Add a New Item:

    1. Add a new ‘Normal’ item to your inventory assets with a name like “Generic Asset” or “Miscellaneous item”.

    2. Set the quantity to zero so that it will be flagged it as “short” (or “not in stock”) as soon as it is added to an order.

  3. Rename the Item:

    1. Once added to your order, you can rename the item to provide more context for your client. For example, you can rename it to "Custom Set Piece."

      1. To rename assets, click the three dots to the far right of the gear page to access the “Actions”

Adding Subrental Items

Creating a Subrental Item is a helpful option for adding frequently-rented assets to your inventory.

  1. Navigate to the Inventory Section:

    1. Go to the "Inventory" section in your LASSO account.

  2. Add a New Item:

    1. Add a new item to your inventory.

    2. Set the quantity to zero so that it will be flagged it as “short” (or “not in stock”) as soon as it is added to an order.

  3. Add an Internal Description:

    1. Add an internal description to indicate that the item is subrented. For example, you can add "We subrent it" as the internal description.

  4. Mark as “Quote Only” Item:

    1. Mark the item as a "Quote Only" item to prevent it from being included in warehouse operations or activities.

By setting up your custom items properly, you can ensure that all necessary items are included in your quotes, providing clear and detailed information to your clients and enhancing your billing processes.
